Lost an iPhone? Or did it get stolen? Such an unfortunate incident can happen to anyone anytime. And since our phones are an important part of our daily lives, it consists many personal data. Assuming you did turn it on when you had your phone, we will tell you what to do now.

How to Delete Data From Lost iPhone

Remember, erasing all data means erasing your device and then you won’t be able to track it anymore.

Now, if you’re ready, follow the steps below:

1. If you’re on a PC, open your browser and go to iCloud website.

2. Sign in to iCloud with your Apple ID and password.

3. Click on Find My iPhone or launch the Find My iPhone app if you’re on an iOS device.

4. From there, click on All Devices.

5. Choose the one you will be erasing. 

6. Click on Erase Phone. Enter your Apple Id/password when asked.

7. Confirm erase.

And that’s all. All your data will be erased from the lost iPhone.

In case you did not have Find My iPhone turned on

If unfortunately you never turned on the Find My iPhone service, in that case the remote wipe is not an option. But we will tell you how you can still save your privacy.

1. Change your Apple ID/iCloud password. It will prevent anyone from logging in to your iCloud account.

2. Change passwords to everything you were logged in on the lost device. Such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc. And you can remove the device from the accounts.

3. Report your device lost or stolen to law enforcement and your carrier.
